Are there any other Brit paints beside the military? Thinking particularly of the Loadstar which should have been 'faithfully' represented in BOAC? *-)

Dave, looking through the package again, there is indeed a BOAC Lodestar in wartime camouflage; its G-AGEH. Is that the one you are thinking of ? I'll post a screenie of it tomorrow.

Hi Paul :hello:

Oooh.. it's increasing my interest :) I was thinking more along the lines of the bare metal 'Peace in our time' paint but a camo job would go part way there :) Looking forward to the screenie

Here you go Dave, the Lodestar. I don't know what you will make of that blue underside.

The twin sets of controls, which you also get in the Super Electra.

Back aft. There is a toilet compartment you can also go and sit in, though there's not much to see...and that might be a good thing.

All in all, this a great package. Knowing what I know now, I would certainly buy it again if I had to. And its exactly my sort of aircraft in FSX/P3D. If you like the Hudson, I think you will like this.

The underside is very blue isn't it. I'm not entirely certain that's accurate *-)

Had a look at it today at Simmarket and it's a couple of quid cheaper than the FCS Wellington I want to get my hands on. As I threw £11 at the UK2000 V3 upgrade for Edinburgh (which solved a dire FR problem I had).. I'm afraid neither the Hudson/Electra or Wellington are gonna be bought any time soon. They remain on my list.. a list of 2 at this very moment. Thanks VM for posting those shots and keep us up to speed on your experiences with it ;)

The blue on the markings are a bit purple as well.

It doesn't look like they have taken much trouble to get any of the colours accurate. In fact the texturing judging from the pics is very poor and inexcusable in today's market.

Just going off-topic very briefly :wall: .... Is that the 9fps problem you had, Dave? I've got the same with Bristol, I come to a grinding halt whenever I get anywhere near it - yet Heathrow is fine. It's stopped me from buying any more UK2000 airports. Do you know what it was or did you just find an update? And did it work?

OK - back on topic :cpu: I like the look of the Electra but like Dave, I'd want the Munich one. The cockpit looks a bit too clean and colourful for my taste and the blue! I keep thinking of the 70s movie 'Electra Glide in Blue' ... and there we are off topic and on to Harley Davidsons in just a couple of sentences

Doesn't it make your heart just sink when you see that I've made a reply to your post? Sorry, Paul :worried:

Ian :)

Sri for the :OT: Paul. :worried:

Ian.. yes it did fix it mate. I could fly from Glasgow and TURN toward Edinburgh and hits would become apparent.. like flying toward London used to be back in the day! As I got closer.. the worse it got so I zapped it off and forgot about it.. until last night when I revisited to see Gary's (JKAGary) Invincible. A smidge over 9fps with EGPH active.. 67fps with it removed :-O I don't do 9fps under any circumstances. There was a free update available for it (I think) but I chose to pay for the v3 upgrade.. reduced as I already have v1. I now see 30-35fps where I was seeing 9. Job done sir ;)
Only ever really seen this problem in FS9 with Gatwick and that turned out to be Heathrow! It took Mr Summons a while to find the problem but he did and a new LHR sorted LGW in one go :)

Nooo ...off topic is good ! Conversations branch out and diversify when we talk face to face, so why not here ? :agree:

However, going back to the Lodestar...yes that blue is wrong, as is the blue on the SAA Super Electra nacelles. Blimey, you could get radiation burns off it. But of course, it's fixable, because its just repainting. :)

Dave, you mention the FCS Wellington...I have that model, and its frustrating to see we almost got the definitive FSX Wellington, only to be let down by some very obvious modeling shortcomings. If ever there was an aircraft that needed revisiting, and just some minor corrections implemented, its the FCS Wellington. Its a damned good representation of the aircraft...it just needs refining in some areas.

The Hudson, on the other hand, seems just in need of a skilled repainter.

BOT? *-)

Thanks for that tip, Dave, I popped over to UK2000 and upgraded my Bristol to v3.0 for a very reasonable £7.50 and it gives me as many frames as I could possibly manage in one second. So in the words of VR46: I am very very 'appy

Looks like Paul let us off the off-topic thing as he's in a good mood!

Ian :)

Glad you're sorted Ian

Thks for the HU on the Wellington Paul. I remembered the general concensus about it being a 'missed opportunity' but not the degree ;) Equally, it's a shame the Hudson needs a team of painters in. Not as drastic as the model being wrong but a disappointment nontheless :(
