I'm assuming it's the same as swmbo.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Ian.

Enjoy your quiet time while she's away.

Thanks Eric,
Some I've never heard of, but I'm certainly glad I have
Woolly Bully on a collection CD set. It was the bees knees in the days that SWMBO & I frequented the Melbourne discoteques. For the younger readers, they were around before "discos" and "Dance music". Most music was live bands, with a few records to fill in the band change or rest period. Energy was sustained with orange juice, coffee and toasted raisin bread. Haven't listened to
She's About a Mover in decades, must look it up.
I'll take a look at some of those others too, obviously my education or memory is lacking.

While I like Art Garfunkel's version of 'I Only Have Eyes For You', I would not want to be without the Flamingo's version from 1959. Incidentally, the original version is from the 1934 film 'Dames' I also prefer the SKeeter Davis version of "Gonna Get Along Without You Now" from 1964.

Nigel, I can see this thread is going in the direction of musical nostalgia of the melodic variety vis-a-vis Johnny Angel by Shelley Faberes,Born Too Late - The Ponytails, Starry Eyed - Michael Holliday etc. Of course I am too young to remember these.

Yes Eric, I know you are far too young to remember those.

But I am curious as to why you mentioned Shelly Fabares. I know 'Johnny Angel' was covered by Patti Lynn in the UK for Fontanna records so I would have thought that would be the version you were familiar with. Patti's cover is a good one but she is (was) not nearly as cute as Shelly.
Was "The Donna Reed Show" broadcast in the UK? I do remember that back in 1962, I had the biggest crush on Shelly Fabares, along with millions of other teen-age boys. When she sang "Johnny Angel" on the show my heart was pounding and blood rushed ... welll, never mind that.

.
You can see why here

Incidentally, Darlene Love and the Blossoms are the back up singers. Now that is enough nostalgia for now but I must confess, those were simpler times that I often wish would return.

They tell me that
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

It's like déjà vu all over again.
