Is licensing req'd to fly these I wonder. Can imagine it could kill if control was lost on it landed on some poor suckers bonce.

Any model exeding 20kg must have an exemption certificate issued by caa Basicaly means the a/c plans and build will be inspected by a person apointed by caa. the a/c must be test flown and proved ( usually 2 hrs ) before any show certificate will be issued Pilots must prove competence I think min B rating The aircraft can not normally be operated within controlled airspace ie withn 3nm of an airfield
If the model weights over 150kg a full certificate of airworthiness is required
