it was really7 bad yesterday about half the aeroplanes were going on and off...this is only on planefinder the others are fine except Radar Virtuel no longer seems to work properly.

RV shows aircraft that are not there, sometimes bring them back from earlier and other crossing the channel in about four hours.

I gave up on that one

But the on off pulsing of Planefinder makes it just about unusual but it does have a better and more extensive playback where as flightradar 24 is limited to a couple of weeks

The IE on this machine is the latest but it doesn't give me a version but on both 24 bit and 32 plus the other versions on the other machines along with Firefox and Chrome all pulsate on and off at times.

That's odd mate My setup here is 'slow' due to me being wireless but other than that, it appears to work reasonably well. I may at some point get the master telephone socket moved to where the PC is so I can enjoy an ethernet connection and this will speed the whole thing up but that'll have to wait until I get a job My BB seems to have stabilized again but the best wireless speed I see is 65Mbps!! To be honest, if I saw it flashing as you do.. I'd not bother again. Slow and steady I can handle but flashing.. no.

Incidentally.. I clicked on Jersey and it reported no inbound/outbound flights due. GUE and ALD don't even show. I'll have another look to see if they've opened

Not many aircraft to the CI show as most don't have mode S so can't be tracked.

Thing like Dash 8 and ATRs don't show anywhere mostly.

Only one BA737 (G-DOCA) ever shows and the Atlantic ATP, well ATP in general seems to be confined to G-MANH

Even fleets like Thompson 737 and BMi Baby have some aircraft without.

Boeing 707, DC 8 DC10 DC 9/MD80, Boeing 737-200 etc don't generally have it, I saw one MD-87 the other day and that was the first I'd seen show...it was a bizJet so I guess it's been re fitted as it was just Manx registered after storage, a term used when an aircraft is inactive during refit as well as actual storage.


Only the very latest Embraers do..not dsure about FlyNe but only the last two Air Europa have it.

Most small, private and business don't show even if they could as there is a certain amount of filtering out of that stuff, but the odd ones do show.

But it's not a CI thing...look anywhere and you won't see the type of aircraft that go there of to many of the smaller of less frequented airports in the UK.

No.. I don't see that sort of flashing at all. I can understand your frustration

I've noticed that anything below the size of say a Scarebus 319 are conspicuous by their absence and most traffic flying across the UK appears to be either Ryanair or Easyjet There are others.. mainline carriers like BA/Emirates/ACA e t c but the smaller stuff doesn't show. I did see a Citation this morning.. going into Brum I think on an N registration but that has been the exception. It's been interesting watching some of the flights thinking 'I've flown that on the VA' Sadly.. no 1-11's/Trident's e t c these days

The CityJet certainly do, unfortunately others, like Titan don't...or to put it another way, those I'm likely to see don't have it .

CityJet only rarely fly over when extreme weather or ash clouds move the tracks, apart from one on a FlyBe flight I did see

As I mentioned above there is a lot of filtering going on the not show private stuff

But some do show like a certain Utra lights over France and a couple of Commander 114's. I've see the odd very small aircraft over the UK too

BiJets either don't have it are left off or filtered out so few show. I saw one Netjet over the top once showing but despite many overflight and local visits of maybe 10-15 per week I've not seen on on radar.

I see about four or five BizJets a day on overflights without actually looking and bet maybe one of perhaps two a week show, sometime none for weeks and when they do it's the same ones.

Military general don't but a Brazilian Air Force Hercules recently did.

There was a Cirrus SR-22 showing the other day

Portugalia Fokker 100's are about the smallest I see and the EMB 195 but as mentioned before only two of Air Europa fleet have it. and it's only thew recent ones that do.

Main Fleets like Delta, United, Air Maroc have block of aircraft without as well as the BA 737 I mentioned, none of their 757 had it

As for Canadair RJ..I've never seen one apart from a prototype at the Paris Air Show in 1989, and I can't see who would fly them in my area anyway so I can't say what the proportion is.

I read the other day that in Europe it is about 60 per cent of airliners that have it. and a much lower percentage in the US. The date for 100 per cent is said to be many many years away.

Not sure that there's any filtering of the live feed although I did notice that a couple of items went missing from the playback. Last week I was down at my mums and saw a Qatar A319 and A340 into EGLL on my SBS-1 which don't appear on playback of FR24.

I have the kit and can confirm that many aircraft show up as transmitting some information but not enough to show position. For example I can know that a Delta Boeing 767-300 is in range but no idea where (and there are quite a few of these flying within the UK - Delta 767-400 have the full kit but not the Delta 767-300). No position info means they don't show on the web sites - they don't show on the software that comes with the hardware either.

There is a piece of software (Planeplotter) that uses fancy algorithms to locate those but it involves several radar boxes sharing data. But it provides a method of locating those aircraft not using full ModeS (and that includes VC10s)
