The "old days" were worse. Pre - internet, computer clocks were notoriously incorrect. I used to ask suppliers why I should trust any of the answers when the machine couldn't even get the time right. All sorts of stuff like variations in elctricity cycles. Never got a satisfactory answer.
I think it was The Doors who said "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" :rock:
Anyhow, according to all my clocks, it's New Years Eve, so have a good one!

Another reason for time or date to go off is the motherboard battery for CMOS going flat :)

Someone mention that

The old, unreliable PC is four years older and the laptop is prehistoric yet they've never gone flat *-)

Having said that my MoBo does seem to have other faults so that shouldn't be to difficult for it to 'clock' up! :lol:
