Tks for that Chris  I looked at the BF3 system specs after my last post and I find I have 3 elements for the recommended setup.. a GTX560Ti, a mouse and a keyboard.. none of which I can use as my Corsair PSU went tits just about a day after installing the GTX560Ti and is currently on it's way to The Netherlands for an 'in house' autopsy 8) Thank goodness the XP3200 fired up after a new PSU was installed.. at least I can still shoot something (I'm now back on CoD after finishing CoD2 btw) ;)

Regressing Dave... you'll be on Space Invaders if you're not careful! I too have revisited some of the older generation of shoot em ups - great fun if you don't mind last gen graphics but at least performance is generally okay.

One interesting aspect of BF3 is that the screen is so busy and the action so frantic it's almost impossible to see or pay attention to what your co-shooters are typing; as this is often abuse I sincerely hope the originators are severely pi**ed off for being so comprehensively ignored.

BTW the helicopter is proving to be great fun - thank God for FSX; I've only crashed if four times and managed to walk away from each one (fortunately so has the helicopter). The IR comms works well with pretty much any aspect apart from behind furniture (an early discovery!).

Regards,
Chris

My oh my.. it does sound like fun. Perhaps I'll have something powerful enough to play it one day. Not sure if I could take to the modern equipment though. It's an odd fact that the only CoD of the series I've not replayed is Modern Warfare (the original.. I don't have any of the later versions). It was fun to play but not enough for me to go back ;) I have CoD World at War which I was a bit miffed with and have also not revisited but for other reasons.. it being an Xbox/Playstation port over. The idea of being in the back of an American torpedo bomber then having the pilot killed and having to crawl into the front then dogfight/bomb Jap carriers was just too much. Like James Bond films.. I can stand almost any gadget but the invisible Jag was a gadget too far 8)
