Is this Rob Richardson you emailed if yes I hope he will upload his work to other sites and the others that seem to only upload to the pond.

Now I’m really impressed Brian, MACH 1.1 !!!!!!
I have tried a vertical dive from 40,000 and not reached that.
I see you RPM gauges are not working.
Are you using "acceleration"?
The 800x600 screen res. is a great leveller, everything looks like fs98.
I’m not saying it would look any better in a higher resolution you understand.

This screenie was taken following a shallow dive. I think the key for the high speed is that I had the three external tanks 'removed'. ;) I'm not using "acceleration", I'm using the stock SP2 from Microsoft. I can try another high speed dash to see if I see the same RPM issue if you'd like.

Brian

Update: I ran up the engines (on the ground) and the RPM gauges did not move. I do see some movement in the EGH gauge though. *-)

So let me get this straight. If someone tries to download it a few times and has problems, then posts here to let you know they are having issues (and I guess to see if others are having issues - which they clearly where) that makes them whiners etc etc?

And they do this so-called whining, because they need to feel superior?

No I think he means in other places, I assume he means other places because as I have not seen any "moaning" here or on the thread on Britsim, just people letting them know something is wrong.

If he does mean here, then it's a different matter as I would like an explanation myself as to why if so many people are having problems downloading and are letting them know there are problems why we are being incorrectly labeled as moaners.

Let's call a ceasefire ;)

Poor Rob has had this problem on and off for a long time. He's had various bods look at it, he's changed servers, what he hasn't done wouldn't take up too much paper. Why the Pond still suffers download probs on files above a particular size probably haunts him!! A downside is that many folk (me included to be honest) tend to hold their breath when downloading files from there as too many times, the end result is incomplete. While our confidence in the Pond may be stretched, I'm sure Rob's confidence is equally stretched!

There's nowt wrong with reporting download problems as the team there need to know. While a few seem to have no difficulties, that can't be said for us all and I doubt whether the latter group are all at fault ;) Hat's off to Rob for keeping the Pond going because frankly, I'd have given up a long time ago :cpu:

Hang in there chaps :)

As I only have acceleration on my system thats what it was made for, I did not test it in sp2.
The airfile started life as an FSX "F 18".
Perhaps you could get Rich Ruscoe to have a look at it, he'll get it working!

Would SP2 be any different to ACC Rob?? I'm no expert in these things but AFAIK, the major difference between the 2 lies in the Helicopter flight model which is much improved/enhanced in ACC.. plus you get a load of crap you don't want  Who's to say though.. stranger things have happened ;)
