By the way Dave the forward blade in Garys photo appears to be a Narco VOR Antenna and the aft one is a VHF Comm antenna

Rgr that Gary
I cut the story a little short in the interest of brevity and simplified it a tad
I wrote the registration down at the time but I write so many things down, I can't find it among the 'shorthand'
Leif.. Yup.. the AE's aren't the same but on the model (4) the wire is going to nowhere.. or so it seems

Re: Superior Airlines Dove
I only suggested No4 as it was the only one of my repaints without a Noddy hat. Perhaps we need a model 7?

Re: Superior Airlines Dove
Yup.. just looked at no.4 in the sim rather than in the 'Select Aircraft' window and it makes more sense now
Still not sure about the wire going directly to the cockpit hood but if DelP put it there, I guess it's right
Eric.. the mad professors Dove was G-ASUW, the first Riley conversion. Noting when The Champions was filmed, ASUW was very probably the company demonstrator at the time

Re: Superior Airlines Dove
Hello Mate..
It's not so much the real aircraft.. more the model. I have a shot here of N427LA which is the same as the aircraft in the pic and has the same radio fit.. a Srs2A ('A' denoting the aircraft is modded to American C.A.A. requirement). The shot isn't the greatest quality but I'm pretty certain there is no wire AE going fwd to the FD dome. Just found a better shot (beware of the popup.. http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6982153 ) which confirms it. The point is, I don't know what info Del based that model on so it's almost pointless being critical
One thing I notice.. the AE wire is much more pronounced in FSX than it is in FS9 which is probably why it's disturbing me so much
Noted the same thing recently with the Viking so FSX is to blame.. not Del or Rick

Re: Superior Airlines Dove
Is possible that the wire is not textured but a nice silvery grey (default)?? material colour
In FS.X it would then default to black as things have to be textured and that would account for a far more pronounced wire.
Still a great model and good looker in any sim

I'll be happy to upload it here. Wish I could find a registry number though.

Re: Superior Airlines Dove
That may be it mate.. texturing isn't my strong point (nor anything else for that matter)
DP will know if it was textured or a natural default material colour and if it was textured, I'd have no idea where it takes the colour from. Just seemed coincidental that the Viking suddenly appeared with big fat wires in FSX when they're beautifully dainty in FS9 and had to be rescaled to look the same
Bout time we had a Riley Dove and a Saunders ST-27. Imagine how popular they'd be on t'other side et pond!
EDIT before final post..
Gary.. here isn't CBF mate.. we're CBFS, closely linked yes but not joined at the hip if you see what I mean. Leif was asking on behalf of CBF.. www.classicbritishfiles.com
