This has never happened to me, but it shouldn't have anything to do with fuel heat. I suspect it may be as Chris mentioned; the fuel trim setting. As the trim datums are set to zero at the top of descent prior to retarding the throttles, it can be easy to forget to reset them on final to the value consistent with the prevailing conditions at the destination airfield. As the trim setting does influence the simulator's fuel mixture setting, in conjunction with the engine/propeller controller, it is possible that when the propellers go into ground fine and the FLIGHT FINE UNLOCKED and PROP BELOW LOCK lamps come on, the mixture is momentarily too weak and the engine flames out. The combination of ground fine pitch and 0% fuel trim is when the mixture setting is lowest.
The other thing to remember is to always leave mixture/propeller levers on joysticks in the maximum position at all times.
