Use ADE connected to FSX and slew the aircraft to the correct position then drag the nodes.

I normally place position markers at places of interest such as runway ends, taxiway intersections etc. and drag nodes to the marks.

Mighty was the explosion. It rocked the countryside around, damaging every house in Parham. Heavily laden with bombs and fuel, the B-17 of the 390th struggled to get airborne. December 27th 1944 had unfolded as an icy day when, shortly before 9 am, the B-17 was forced down, possibly due to ice accretion on take off. The bomber careered into the village centre, the entire crew dying in the holocaust. Miraculously, not one of the inhabitants suffered beyond minor injuries, but every house was damaged.

Passage taken from Action Stations Vol 1.

I looked up Parham, and found that there is another airfield of the same name just outside Storrington in Sussex. It's still active.

There is a good little museum there in the old control tower. Not just parts of US aircraft (Liberator main wheel undercarriage) but also some rare bits from RAF aircraft such as Stirling and Whitley (think) parts on display. But it's been about 6 years since I was there myself.

Have ADE installed and checked just need to RTFM now. :)

I have made some changes to the airfield to remove most of the aircraft hard standings around the perimeter that are no longer there but I cannot compile it. I have also changed the altitude as there was a slight ha-ha effect around the tarmac edges and moved the airfield across to match the scenery but I keep getting the error below.

I also get this same error when I try to compile the unaltered airfield.

Have I missed something obvious?

This is the XML source of the original airport.bgl error.

Then I will reduce the length of the main runway as well.

(on list to do) :)

"Airfields of the Eighth" Text by Roger Freeman published by 'After the Battle' 1978. Pages 90-96. Many B/W photos ncluding an RAF O/H June1946, a Luftwaffe Rece photo O/H plus a small extract from OS map Sheet 156.

The above could be of assistance in making an FS model of the airfield.

That is usually caused by the way Afcad2 stored the comm frequencies. Use "List/Comms" in ADE then edit the frequencies and save.

Thanks. I'll check that.

Edited to say, that worked. Just clicked each one, clicked edit. didn't change anything. Saved them and it compiled :)

That's a peculiar view. Why not show top-down, north oriented:

Image

BTW. This shows the usefulness of having two screens. FSX on one and Fugawi Maps on the other.

That was because I was on the runway heading up the screen and looking top down gave me that view in FSX at the time but I've got this view as well.

And yes, I've done a similar dual view on my widescreen monitor.

Just going to get it all cleaned up, put a nissen hut next to the tower and keep the runways all in, in a what if it was still used as a private aerodrome style way. Which in a way it still is ;)
