Got the screen. There is quite a change, now all I have to do is work out the best resolution.

Hi Simon
Most TFT's (maybe all of em) have their own 'native' resolution which should be documented somewhere. Try that first and move on if you don't like it

I use a 40inch Samsung HDTV as my monitor. Make simming and other games look fantastic.

Thanks Dave. Set my Flightsim to the same resolution. See what happens

That's the ticket mate. Set your screen res the same and FS9 should look just fine and dandy.. other than stretched 2D panels but there's nowt you can really do about that

You'll find other stuff will look better too at the native res.. desktop, desktop icons.. in fact just about everything. My daughters pc had a funny five minutes a few weeks ago and I got the call 'Daddy.. can you come and look at my pc.. it doesn't look right'. Found the box with the native res on.. reset it to that and hey presto

I love widesrceen. wouldn't go back for nothing
it's all a matter of likes and dislikes really , I just purchased a 24 inch 16:9
for a customer and it's fantastic , bright and has a 180 view of angle.
there are 16:10 moniters which I would suggest to stay away from as that is
a ratio that will stretch things out of proportion. it will not give you
correct ratios of sim stuff made for either 4:3 or 16:9

I just happened to look at Overclockers (my 19" CRT is starting to crumble) for a 'normal' tft and they don't do them.. widescreen or nowt. Question is.. why do we ALL have to have widescreen monitors these days when we don't need them

I don't watch TV or films on my pc.. thats why I have a TV and DVD player

I don't use VC's so all it would do is distort my 2D panels

Load of BLX if you ask me Joe (which you didn't but there you go)

I'm with Dave
I have one.never wanted it.don't like it but it's all that was being sold and the distorted dials of the 2 D is a great source of irritants.
As for films in widescreen....that's why I don't watch films.
