Its amazing what people will want to complain about.

A few years ago I attended a report of a fight in a kebab shop during the early hours. It was a very busy friday night. Things going off everywhere!

The person that made the call claimed he had been seriously assaulted by another chap whilst stood in the queue for his food.

After an interesting blue light run thorough a packed city centre, avoiding drunks and idiots, I got there.

Upon arrival all was quiet.

No sign of a fight. No persons unconcious on the floor, no blood, no damage to anything etc..

I was then approached by a bloke that admitted making the 999 call to the cops.

He said that he was just watching the scrap when his burger was knocked out of his hand and fell onto the floor during the fracas.

Have heard stories of fat people dialing 999 because they couldn't reach the remote control. Or silly old ladies calling for an ambulance and refusing to go to hospital because she had cakes in the oven...

Seriously, they should just divert all these calls to me where I will then proceed to verbally abuse them...

An expat, born in London. I realize I probably botched the accent but it is hard to spell accents. I also realize people in Chatham, Kent probably don't talk like a Cockney - dramatic license and all that. Some of the lads may have travelled a bit to the southeast in the quest to nick snowman.

I thought so Nigel i live about 6 miles from Chatham across the river medway and although i have never considered myself a cockney i'm afraid people tend to think i am,

I used to live in Devon many years ago but have lost most of my west counry accent, a few words still come out now and again!, i hate the way i speak sometimes the wife says its not to late to speak proper! but i think it is at 69 yrs, but anyway my old cock you got the accent abart right
