Couldn't agree with you more Mike. A long time ago I decided to adopt a policy whereby I would no longer send on or reply to stuff like that. I simply read it and deleted it. A few folks complained that I never sent the stuff back to them and I pointed out the total waste of bandwidth and for some reason they stopped sending me anything of any type after that. :dunno:

Mind you, if all they were sending me was cr@p I'm not too disappointed at the outcome! ;)

I have experienced occasional slowdowns like now for instance. Opening the reply window took around 10 seconds. That really is not a big deal but sometimes it is worse and I am the impatient type. It is now 19:13 here on the US east coast and a lot of people are just getting home and catching up on the web. Usually the slow periods only last a few minutes and then things are back to normal. The only thing is I have not noticed this slowdown on most of the other sites I visit at this time of day.

Edit - submitting the post and getting back into the forum was lightening fast so it appears to be just peaks and vallyeys in internet traffic.

At the turn of the century :-O  when I was being a friendly ISP help person, I found most of the customers just could not understand that the files they were viewing across the net actually lived in Boston, or LA, or Houston, Texas, which I believe is now the world capital for server farms, with many dedicated multi-storey buildings. We were a local firm, so our webpage was in the local phone exchange, wasn't it? :wall:
There was a thing called the Internet Traffic Report ( http://www.internettrafficreport.com ) which I used to refer them to, just to baffle the punters with my superior knowledge :wasntme:
It helped support my statements that there was: a big freeze in the US Eastern States/heatwaves and electrical storms on the West Coast/Hurricanes in the Gulf, as suited the time of year.

I don't get too many problems with getting on here. Some of the FS sites take far longer to load than here.

Hello! all replies appreciated. Let me expand. Tonight it seems not so poor, 1900 Pacific time The Home page arrives virully instantaneously. I click on the FORUMS link. That took 6 seconds to appear. Then it is my practice to do the r/click on a specific forum to open in a new Tab. I hate having to navigate back, that took 22 seconds. As I say tonight at this time is generally not bad, but if I try about 1000 Pacific, which is 1800 in UK it can take up to 1 minute.
I'm not complaining nor do I wish to cause an issue, just sayin. I'll shut up now. :shhh: :-#
