I think there were issues with the Herk in that the CAA wouldn't certify it because they didn't like it's handling with two engines out on the same side, can't remember the exact details. Probably explains why all the non-military ones in the UK were foreign registered.

Skip it certainly was certification probelms but I don't knoe the details.....what you say makes sense
