Thks for that Nige ;)

I wish I could remember why the hell I put it on in the first place. I'm sure it was required for a program but I can't remember which one :wall: Would any of the FSX scenery/traffic tools require Java?? I've a feeling it was something to do with FSX :dunno:

Dunno about :OB: FSX, but a lot of web sites use Java for applets that run games, use 3D video, and many other things.

Quite a few sites like weather and the such...........Radar Virtuel is another... that says you need Java enabled :dunno:

Hi Nige..

OK.. I only have FS9/FSX and the CoD series (none of which call for Java as far as I can remember) which narrows things down but I'm still none the wiser. I suppose I could uninstall it and see what no longer works!

Tks for that Garry. I don't get out much so don't have any virtual (or otherwise) radar package/s and the only weather site I use is the Met Office. *-)

Java is a programming language mate , used to make applications
it's used in chats , web sites ,--- like Ngel said, games....dragging and dropping on your destop,
make objects run over a web page your trying to read ..

word of caution
It uses portals to work. And those portals can be compromised by baddies
to gain access to your computer.

if you use it keep it updated :)
