Re: IOS Skybus Islanders
It is indeed mate. Anyone doesn't like it will have the fleet knocking on their doors
That was a 'live' VA flight using FSX (Oo-er!) with the new Flight1 Islander and one of DG's lovely Skybus paints. I've yet to try the AP on the Islander but it flies well enough to be hand flown.. hands off for the most part. A little disturbed there doesn't seem to be a fuelburn gauge on the Islander (I can't find the bloody thing anyway) so this was seat of the pants stuff hoping I wouldn't run out of gas Fortunately, I got away with it and after 2 flights (Land's End to Plymouth and Plymouth to Guernsey).. I have a reasonable idea of what it'll do. My main disappointment was landing at GUE and seeing the default scenery. Ee-gads Why Gary Summons didn't include the CI with his VFR Airfields I'll never know I tried the freeware FSX GUE (released yonks ago) but I see trees with black rectangles around them so that's gone to file13 Ah well.. we live in hope

Re: IOS Skybus Islanders
Yes I have that problem with the freeware FSX Channel Islands scenery. Something to do with the Herish trees... Or whatever they're called. I read the readme and couldn't make hide-nor-hair of what it all meant so left them alone and the trees are all in black boxes. Never mind... I'll try not to fly there again.

You never know when or where he'll strike do you!
Re the trees, I did wonder if the scenery required Gerrish Grey's trees and I can understand your confusion trying to install them. They were designed for FS versions no longer spoken of and the readme's reflect this I really don't want to be putting trees designed for FS2000 (or before) into FSX so I'm not gonna bother

Sounds a bit like having to put a valve wireless in your Ferrari
I'll go for that Dave.......do it properly or not at all

Re: IOS Skybus Islanders
Gerrish Grey trees, them's the ones. Yes, it means replacing the FSX defaults which seemed a bit OTT to me rather than just planting them at the airport site which would make more sense.
Oh well, time to look for preoper full FSX replacement Channel Island airports then.

Re: IOS Skybus Islanders
Amen to that
Earth Simulations have the entire CI on their books so with the Scillies and Alderney already available.. the CI is going to be one of the most detailed areas to fly in. I just wish they'd hurry up The area they did for Scotland is pretty darned good too though I don't fly there enough to justify getting it.

Hi Dave
Sorry to drag this up from the past, but are these still available? Links don't seem to work.
Regards
Kevin
