If the person for example was stranded in Jersey on the way to Guernsey on another carrier or by sea they can buy a ticket to Guernsey but not if Jersey was the terminal point on the original ticket.
Only algebra has ever confused me more in my entire lifetime than the quote above

I'll give you an example

Emeaude Ferries for St.Malo to Guernsey was cancelled so they put the pax on the Jersey boat with arrived at 1300.

The next boat was Condor at 2100 so some pax went by air instead of waiting. In those circumstances an airline could carry the pax without a specific inter island license as Jersey was not the terminal point on the original booking so they were not true inter island travellers but now travelling to Guernsey via Jersey but left to book their Jersey Guernsey connection using their original Emeraude ticket as a credit. Air pax had to pay the difference in cost.

Because of protectionism, these things are never actuially told to you unless you ask but I know of actual occurances of these exceptions.

They like to make you think you can only go by inter island carriers but that is not always the case.

I think I understand that  My difficulty was trying to get my head around being stranded in Jersey on your way to Guernsey when Jersey was the original ticket point/destination.. that is, why would you be stranded at all if Jersey was the ticket point/destination on your ticket. It's Sunday and I've been harrassed

One thing's for certain.. I couldn't do that job for a living!

Ah yes

That is two things..saying if you ended up in Jesey on the way to Guernsey you could buy a ticket on a carrier that was not the original carrier.......but if you were going to Jersey in the forst place you can't.

I'm beginning to wish I hadn't bothered. Apologies to those who have had their heads cabbaged over the last few days! :hide:
