Close FSX. Find your FSX.cfg file (in your user profile - not the FSX folder) and rename it to fsx.cfg.old then restart FSX, this should put your settings back to default, but you will need to reset you graphics settings ;)

Which operating system are you using? XP, Vista or Windows 7?

Ok matey, make sure you have show hidden files and folders enabled. The click on the start button and in the search box type in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX and press enter

this will take you to the profile directory containing your fsx.cfg file ;)

OK I tried that but no joy.

When I look back in the altered user profile file I see the "fsx.cfg.old" file that I renamed but no new .cfg file.

FSX automatically creates one when it starts if one doesn't exist. it can't run without it ;)

OK, now that I have reset the graphics (as you said!!) I have 2D cockpits in all my models.

However, still no flying instruments in my Halifax!!

John..

You've probably found that it's not possible to make changes to the cfg files while the sim is open as the sim remembers the cfgs and entries. You could try and select another aircraft then go back to the one you're fiddling with (which sometimes works but rarely!) so it's generally best to close the sim.. fiddle.. then restart the sim again ;)

Where have you put the Halifax gauges and likewise, where are the York gauges you want to see in the Halifax panel??

The Halifax gauges and the "York" file with its gauges in it are all in my Halifax "Panel" file.
