Thanks for all of that :worried: ;)

Paul..
This is a fresh config. I was assuming the program could determine what were the optimums were when it rebuilt the config.. hence that's why we all do it when things go wrong *-)

20fps looked like a bag of worms so I upped it to 25. Before the rebuild, I was seeing these pauses though to be honest.. I'd probably not spent enough time in FSX to notice. Framerate before was at 30fps (my screen refresh is 60hz) :) Sliders are as the rebuilt config set them other than framerate lock and water texture level (as mentioned earlier, if I leave it at the default setting with GenXv2, I see odd (unintentional) water textures/artifacts). GenX kills all autogen so what I'm flying over is either sea or smooth landscape (I only use FSX over the UK as the ROTW looks pony.. as did the UK without GenX) ;)

As for Network status monitor.. I've no idea. AV.. it's on. Registry Key Discseek.. I've never heard of it :|

Oh.. I moved the visibility down to 30miles.. forgot about that :)

I can turn all the sliders to zero and have it look like FS9 I suppose but what would be the point *-)

Theres was a reference on this very forum to an article on aerosoft forum ... I can't seem to find it now, but I've posted it over at HJG, under Tweakings ... and I've used it myself ... It is VERY worth your while following it .... the actual document is called settings.pdf and the title of the article is something like "why do I always get 50 fps" ... or something ... should pop-up right away in a Google search.

I know of one particular aircraft that works extraordinary well in FSX .... AND it's British .... AND it's both Classy AND classic.

As Dan says, all of DM's stuff works fine in FSX now. If you need help installing it, just ask :)

Yes, thanks guys. I tried it a while back and with Dan's help got it working fine in FSX. But the experience wasn't as good as in FS9 so I uninstalled FSX and gave it away. I fly DM's FS9 aircraft 95% of the time so there's nothing in FSX that would improve my simming pleasure. Come the day someone releases an FSX version of the VC10/1-11/Trident or Comet, with all the enhancements that would bring - I'll install it without hesitation!
