Re: Ultimate Traffic 2

Not wanting to start a punch-up or ought
but I have been very happy with UT2 since it was released.
I haven't had any real problems.
Not that I've had to use it - but there is the option to clear your approach from the in-flight menu. One click and it's done. Okay- not realistic - but if it's bothering you that you can't find a slot to get in, it's a simple answer, rather than exiting the flight and setting the traffic at a lower amount. This had been available all along.
I did have an issue with selective airports (like EGLC) where the traffic sometimes did not appear at all and Flight 1 very kindly invited me to join their update beta testing - which sorted that. The update is available on their site. I was well impressed with how quickly they got that sorted.
I'm also very impressed with the customisability (eh?) of the program. Not only can you make your own schedules very easily and with any of the aircraft you use in FSX, but you can also add any other AI aircraft you have into the preset schedules.
It's very simple - the UI is first class and the manual is good, too. This beats the pants off any other AI prog I've tried.
Oh yes - you can use the JF TrafficX Pluspaks at the same time (without TrafficX itself installed) and get good military coverage alongside UT2.
Another point is that it doesn't use bgl files (hence being able to use other AI progs with ease), has never really bothered my framerates, just my TrackIR movement at a busy Heathrow was a little 'juddery' but fine after take off, and the flightplans are 100% accurate - not just direct-tos. They fly proper routes via airways, SIDs and STARs. I was amazed at how good it felt to join the pattern at the Boeing airfield and have to get everything spot-on to avoid messing up (a virtual) someone else's day.
That's my take on it.
