glad you didn't throw your money away
I remember all the comotion about the sim .. for crying out loud it was like the first time a child was
allowed to run loose in a candy store!

I was happy for ya . that was a nice payback
for the hard work you all had invested into the model... I was a little envious accually
what does a sim do for me? It gives me the visuals to practice for real world.
I'll know where a switch is , provided the panels are the same , and some feedback from the yoke
provided the FD is close and a few other things.
My first landing in a 172 G1000 was good enough to get a reaction from the instructor..
He said "thats was one of the best I've seen from a first timer". mentally I was able to see through the windscreen "the sim"
and back into the real world beyond it. but it sure didn't feel like the sim, the turn rate the speed on approach
or the flare . in fact the flare was nothing like the sim .....
now having said that, I remember a show about Concorde ( I've posted Brian Calverts interview here)
there was an interview with Andre Turcat Concorde's French test pilot.
If I rememeber it correctly he said ((not verbatim))
For three years we trained on the simulator.
and on March Two 1969 <<chuckels>>
We flew the simulator ...... and then he was beamimg and smiled ear to ear
so maybe it can be as real as it gets and visa-versa if you have the hardware.
tell ya what I sure would never fly a 172 inverted ten feet off the water real world or even in passing think it funny
I may be a little crazy with my humor .. but I isn't insane .
