You probably knew but forgot your memory was so bad.

There are three signs of increasing age

1 Becoming a miseable ole git :worried: (Not so in your case)

2 Loss of memory. :worried: :worried:

Sorry can't remember the other one :dunno:

as the flaps are dualled up as ailerons on landing, it looks like he as some roll input in during that shot

Dave,

Have you got the latest version of the Ark from the Flying Stations website? I eventually found what was causing the frame rate hit and fixed it, which also solved a random crash on deck issue as well.

Are you sure you have the latest version? The previous version had loads of different texture maps and certainly hit FPS. The latest has far fewer texture maps, plus bump maps, and is smoother.

HTH?

Skip/Andy..

No lads.. I'm not sure at all. The FSX version I have came from Ben who set it up as AI (it's up t'Mersey about to sail in that shot). I don't know where my FSX stands with regard to bump maps and all that malarkey but I'll be sure to check the Ark version ;-)

Tks for the HU

Hi Dave... pretty sure I did that AI for you before the Ark was updated, so it may well be the original one... just copy the new one over the old one, but don't overwrite the sim.cfg file ;-)

Just put DG's hunter down on the new ark steaming 20 miles south west of Liverpool... frame rates ranged from 35 to 57. The only think I don'y like on the new model, is the modeled aircraft on the Deck... but its still my favourite carrier thus far

Dave you are correct that first release of the Ark did have a bugger of a Frame Rate hit, the original FS9 version was full of over sized and in-efficient textures which I can take full responsiblilty for, so apologies for that, it was a "learn on the go job". So when Skippy re-released it for FSX it was yet again another frame killer. But we re-re-did again some months ago, placed the parked aircraft back on deck and decimated the texture count by 70% and reduced some of the sizes. Skippy also re-did some of the model, and as a consequence it is a much better performer in FSX.

That does look like the original version you have there so if you are ever interested in having another go then you may wish to re-download it.

On the mention of the Bucc, we are in the middle of modeling a S1 at present, its some time off, but we learn some tricks modeling the Wyvern that we wanted to put into a Buccaneer, for all those that are interested feel free to see these very out of date WIP shots, it has come some way since these were grabbed, and will post some more soon.

Anyhow, glad people are still enjoying the Ark.
