VEGAS wrote:Well guys, I bit the bullet. Decided to order a half decent system seeing as I am going to be using it frequently and fancied something that will bring me up to date for at least the next 12 months. Gone (well) over budget but here is my spec:

Intel Core I7 920 Processor overclocked up to 3.4GHz
Asus P6T SE motherboard with Intel X58 chipset
ATi Radeon HD4890 1024MB Graphics Card
Cooler Master Elite 334 Black Case
Winpower 750watt Power Supply
6GB PC3-10666 DDR3 Memory
2 x 500GB SATA 7200rpm Hard Disks
Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit OEM (with Windows 7 upgrade voucher)

Not sure how it will perform but hopefully it will handle most of the demands FSX will throw up.
More than half decent, I'd say. Eddie, who did you order it from ? It's pretty close to the specs I'm thinking of.

Well, she does'nt know the costs yet. :hide:

Might have to buy her a new dress or something this weekend. A small price to pay for a nice system.

Paul,

I bought the system from Chillblast. This machine has just won best buy in PC Advisor, up against other machines from other builders in the same price mark.

For what I paid and considering the half decent spec, I think its excellent value for money.

I was also guided by the upcoming November review in PC Advisor.

The system cost £999.00 which includes a two year pick up and return to base warranty.

(in fact my system was even cheaper cos I downgraded the blu-ray to a standard Sony DVD drive and also took the 2.1 speakers out of the package)

After weeks of searching and scratching my head. I could'nt find a better deal. :)
