You'll need to practice on an old model but the results will be well worth it

Of course you could just spray it silver but it's really worth going for the proper job :cpu:

There is a lot of good equipment and materials for modellers nowadays and I would think where you live there should be an extensive range of goodies

Whichever method you use the trick is to make the tint differences subtle.hardly noticable in isolation on the main area and pick out the odd panel made of different grade alu in real life.

Look at pics..they will give you an idea and the model can have real character and something like the Strat is crying out for such attention.

There are various modelling sites that are full of tips and examples and they can be a very enjoyable read as well as a great source of knowledge. :)

The engine units on the model are not very accurate. :-(

You can get replacement resin moulded

Beware the adhesive foil! Many years ago I used that material to cover a 1/72 G91 cutting each panel individually and turning the foil before cutting so that when applied one saw apparently different textures from panel to panel. By the time I had finished that very small model I was almost blind from the reflected glare. Never again!!

With painting one can produce different tints by mixing different amounts of matt or semi matt white or blue into your matt silver or alumium paints from the Humbrol range. Careful application of these variously tinted variations can produce an attractive effect but one would be well advised to practice on aver old model before tackling the latest masterpiece.
