I accept the security aspect entirely but If you look at Manchester Airport website there are indications that this has been done to take passengers through a larger area of retail outlets prior to embarkation. For those of you who know the terminals at Manchester, and I have been a regular visitor since the mid 1960's, the main concourse presents no more of a security risk than anywhere else. If somebody is mad enough to carry out an attack they will do it anyway. The only real answer is to make the whole of the airport and it's surrounds totally out of bounds to the public and make passengers go through security at the perimeter. I think.
Anyway I still have my memories and Dave Maltby's scenery. :drinkers:
