Martin - no, I don't have a drink problem either - I can buy it anywhere around here
I assume that when you describe the climb performance of the Husky as 'very remarkable' you are talking relatively, being an Auster pilot at heart ?
Cheers CHEERS

Ten years ago and I knew nothing about Austers cept for what I had read in books. But now, I can bore most people with the details of this, my so called experiences in that and so on. The Husky yesterday was virtually empty with little fuel (was an excuse to go to the pumps via the air) and two on board and I suppose with a light airframe and a 180hp engine up front, was so different from other marques of the breed I have sampled. Closest sampled is the small Mk.3 and the Alpine with two of the worst I'm afraid to say being AMMS and the Terrier 2. Each has its good points and its bad and I'm sure that the Husky has something hidden away, but I only had 20 minutes in her and wasnt shown anything out of the ordinary.
If you'd gone to Lundy yesterday, you may have bumped into the VFR Flyers. We chose Dave's Auster for our usual sunday jaunt, and after a few T&G's on west country farm strips, we arrived on Lundy.
I've taken the liberty of posting just a couple of the many shots that we took during the flight. More can be seen on the VFR Forums.
Thanks to Dave for providing us with the Auster. The Lundy scenery was built by Neil, one of our members.
As you can see from the repaints, we also had some of our colonial cousins along.
Looks very good, a lot better than the weather we had yesterday in darkest Devon. We got as far as Hartland Point and well Lundy wasnt there!! So we all (Auster 3, 6 and a Piper L-21) returned for home. Have been to Lundy before and that was in the 6 and although much is said about it being rough, certain parts of the runway are rather smooth. Just avoid the sheep and the deer is my advice!!
Neil......yes I know Neil very well, only last week we were discussing my FSX problems down the Flying Club!! Small world is aviation.
