Right now the options break down to:
1.) Fit a new video card and soldier on with a cramped 100GB drive and 1GB memory - not really much going for that!
2.) Upgrade the motherboard, processor, memory, video card and hard drive within the existing case - but remember to do a clean re-install of the vendor XP before ripping the old bits out. So that means keeping the case, DVD and maybe the 450W power supply. Get W7 as and when?
3.0) Go the whole hog and get a shiny new box with either XP or Vista with a view to getting W7 when it comes out.
4.0) Do 1 - and then 2 or 3 in November or maybe after Christmas - but will W7 increase in price after the launch date?
As the PC is tucked in a corner between a desk, two walls and a wine rack, is cooling going to be an issue?
Whatever I do will be wrong - proceed at once. :roll:
