Sounds right Fraser

BTW What I noticed first about the Wessex is it is an early one with two exhausts each side where it should have one each side if a genuine RAF rescue.

Well.. not fake as such, just not allocated to a 'flying' machine :) The trainers are basically wooden mockups used for pilot familiarity so what you see on the back of that trailer is all there ever was ;-) The TCA 952 trainer at Brooklands has a lovely gap all along the top where it was sawn in half for transportation :o :-(

The Tident 1 sim was G-ARPV

If there is a missing letter in the fleet they use that or the Q.

I'd thought I'd ask as I'm yet to see a British Civil Registered aircraft with a "Q" in the reg :dunno:

Hi Ben

Q was originally used in the original G-E British register. The last one used was G-EBTQ.

The reason it isnt allocated is because it would interfere with the Q code communications -- QFE/QNH/QDM etc etc

So that's the reason - I thought that it might be to avoid visual confusion with "O".

Not heard a request for a QDM in a l-o-n-g time!

Other countries also have missing letters from their registration sequences - at this time of night, nothing comes immediately to mind. :-(
