Yes I dare say thats true. By the way, something I've been meaning to ask...what is that between the two starboard engines under the wing that isn't there on the port engines ? APU or something ?
As Chris has already elaborated it is for the ECM system, specifically it is an antenna plate for the Red Shrimp equipment. Generally speaking the Blue Steel Vulcans had a pair of them as when the fin of the Blue Steel was lowered in flight it didn't allow full coverage from the single antenna under the starboard engine.

Thanks very much chaps. I've been meaning to ask ever since I noticed it on XH558.

Couple of vids on YouTube for you - nothing special, have a look at the aircraft rather than my flying!

I've looked at those videos, and the new interior screenshots at Iris...and I'm a bit worried.
I haven't bought it yet, so I can't be sure...but there seems to be no textures on the inside of the canopy ( just blackness ) and the edge of both the windscreen perspex panels and the small side windows are blurred and indistinct. The side windows are particularly so... no hard edge, just a kind of fuzzy circular aperture.
Is it like this in the released model , or is that just a beta model issue ?

Hi Paul..
Y E S...
2 possible explanations.. FSX panels depending on where the light is coming from often look this way IMHO. I commented to DaveG a couple of days back about the 'usual' panel layout on the Auster towit he sent me a shot of the picture he'd worked from. Next time I loaded the Auster up and flew with the sun behind me.. all the detail I'd not previously seen was there! :brick: The Vulcan flightdeck isn't the best lit for obvious reasons so this might be why the panel doesn't look textured
The windows..
Simulated grime me thinks or some other phenomina. One would like to think a frontline bomber would have clean windows but you never know

Dave, do me a favour if you would please...go to this link and have a look at the interior shots.

The fuzzy edges of the windows at the left and right ends of the windscreen...and the circular side windows..surely they're not right. There is no edge to them, just a blurry transition from opaque to transparent.
