David, am I reading this right ? Do TVOC require a fee because you've produced a Vulcan 'in general' or is it specifically because you are including XH558 in the package ?

Hmmmm...i really hope thats not the case Paul.... :dunno:

I have given good money to see that bomber fly...and they have raised countless thousands for their charity/venture....?

David isn't asking a lot and i really thought they might be sensitive to this....???

David...Have you e-mailed the chairman of TVOC..?

Maybe the other option is to leave "558" out of the package...?

I agree. I could live without having 558 in the package if it expedites matters.

Good luck

Don't get me wrong, chaps, I'm not making any insinuations against TVOC by asking the question. If there is a legal process underway, its probably a protracted affair, and something not easily suspended or temporarily laid aside. I asked out of curiosity because I've never really fully understood these things, going right back to the Oleg Maddox /Grumman controversy concerning Pacific Fighters.

Anyway, the question is there should David care to answer, and if its commercially sensitive, he can tell me to shut up. In the meantime I've made a donation via the Australian Red Cross.

Paul,

Firstly, many thanks for your kind donation, we've been very impressed with the kind generousity shown from all over the world in relation to the Bushfires.

In relation to XH558, TVOC own the aircraft, and as such XH558, Vulcan to the Sky and the Vulcan platform and any combination thereof are registered trademarks of Vulcan to the Sky Trust. From our point of view, this is only limited to XH558 and doesn't include OTHER Vulcan renditions, although we're working hard to get clarification and confirmation on this.

At the moment, we are in discussions with Michael Trotter regarding a licencing agreement which will allow us to include XH558 as part of our product in return for a licencing fee. In either event, it has ALWAYS been our intention to dontate a portion of profits made to TVOC with or without XH558 being included in our package.

I have to say though that given the current financial situation within TVOC, the income generated by such a niche market is not likely to make a significant difference to their financial needs. However as I pointed out in my last e-mail to them, 'Every little helps' :)

It is just such a shame I wasn't able to get over to the UK last year to see her in action. And Australia is such a long way for her to fly...lol.

Rest assured, the Vulcan is on finals at IRIS, and by all accounts she is shaping up to be a beast of an aircraft. I've just counted over 200 custom animations on the VC, many of them switches, and many 3D gauges. However before you all get mouse clicky happy, there's no backseaters I'm afraid.. However, there's plenty to keep you occupied in the front seats though.. ;)

David.

Thanks for that David. The Iris Vulcan, along with one or two releases from other developers, is an absolute certainty for me, so I'm very much looking forward to it. It'll go down a storm here at CBFS, I'm sure.

Sad to see on the BBC news yesterday that the bushfires are back in Victoria.
