I had a play in the B742 sim down there when I worked in Bournemouth tower; must have been around 2003-ish I think. Great fun! Well worth a trip!

Ah, Bournemouth, fantastic! I live in Dorchester, work in Bournemouth and have friends who work at the Bournemouth Flying Club.

I'd be interested in having a go in one of your sims sometime, but it would be good to share time/cost with a group of CBFS chums. Sooooo, if there is anyone serious about heading to Dorset (or already in Wessex maybe?) to try Mike's sims please do PM me! I can be pretty accommodating as regards days/times as I work flexible hours.

Thanks again for the comments guys. You mention Dave 'being handy in a VC10' I remember now, you were invited along by the RAF after having input into your VC-10 flight dynamics weren't you Dave, I remember reading the acticle in PC Pilot and the comments about how if your a good simmer you should be able to fly the commercial sims well etc. I remember then thinking I should write in and confirm it but as usual, never got round to it. AS for the comments about getting together to share as I've said that ain't a problem! All welcome but to take advantage of the heavilly discounted rates it has to be weekends or I'm not around and can't guarantee the rates.

Yes, Tonks had myself & DaveB down at Brize Norton in 2004. Tonks is being kind by only mentioning the landings, as I was a bit crap at the rest of it!
I've done 550+ proper FS flights now though with the CBFS VA, which is about 550+ more than in 2004, so I hope to be much improved now.

The one landing in the VC10 sim was quite impressive, even though I do say so myself.
Certainly impressed me anyway as I expected to crash from the interesting position I'd got us into!
Amazing how panic can concentrate the mind! :o

I remember reading that in PC Pilot also, that is what brought me here.

You certainly kept that a well guarded secret Dave......until now!!

Regards
Nigel.

I wonder if this would be a good place to have another ´members´awayday and pool some costs? I doubt if I would be able to make it coincide with my UK visits myself, but I must admit it sounds a cracking idea for a day out ;-)

Hi Mike

The Outlaws live in Poole so if we are visiting for the day, I might just have to sneak away if the opportunity arises. I'll let you know.
