Nigel, Derwent Valley, lies roughly half way between Manchester & Sheffield. Its just off the A57, which is nicknamed the 'snake-pass' as its a fantastic twisty and picturesque driving road. It used to be a national speed limit road but its now restricted to 50mph due to many accidents.
I got taken down there when I did my advanced course. A brilliant road!

Has the Specialized been replaced then? Very nice.

Hi Rob. Me too mate. Although the speed restriction now means advanced students are a rare sight on it now. They stay on the nationals where they can open up properly.

As for the bike, yes it was time for a change. Very impressed with the new one. Although its already on new brake pads after just 3 months!

You been out much?

Nice Piccs Vegas and a very nice looking Cube too. Local bike shop near me does Cubes and a recent visit to the shop was the first time I'd seen them. Did the ride around the ressies there quite a few years ago now - nice and easy unless you head for the hills but we did have the kids with us. SWMBO is shortly to get an Orbea roady, which means she'll have three bikes (a Specialized MB, Orbit Tourer and the Orbea - I'll need a bigger garage!) but to be honest MBs are a bit wasted down here.

Regards,
Chris

Thanks Chris. The bike has been a little diamond since I've owned it.

I've never normally shy'd away from American designs but I tested this machine back in September last year and was very impressed.

It cost less than half what I'm normally expect to pay for a machine of the same components and build quality.

Designed and built by Germans.

And lets be honest, they rarely make a bad machine! ;-)

Some lovely pics there Eddie. I think it was last year that they recreated the Lancaster going over the dam.

Again the bike is looking fantastic. Have had the Orange for near on 16 months now and am glad I went for it. I just need to get out and about the big/better places and get sodding muddy.

Cheers Robin. Seems everywhere I go on the bike at the moment results in me looking like I've rolled around in the Rhinocerous pit at Chester Zoo! I also cycle to work on day and afternoon shifts and because the roads are filthy at this time of year, I get get covered in gloop whilst trying to avoid a first class ticket to the harp farm courtesy of oblivious and impatient motorists.
