They still haven't appeared in the FSX aircraft menu. Maybe those textures need to be installed in another location? Does it make a difference that I am using Windows Vista64 and SP2/Acceleration?

Ah!!!

I did say
Depending on where you have installed FSX, this will be ...
What is the path to your FSX.exe file?

I'm running x64 Vista too, so it will be E:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X for me. Notice mine is on the E drive, but yours might be somewhere else.. c? But x64 will put 32 bit programes in the "Program Files (x86)" rather than "Program Files"

Does that make sense?

Mine is in the exact same place, except that it is on the C: drive. I don't know what difference that makes, because I just followed your instructions regarding where to put the various files and folders. They are in the correct locations now, but the aircraft is not showing in the FSX aircraft menu :brick:

Is there anyone here who actually has the Bac 1-11 installed in FSX? If so, maybe they could check where the textures have been installed........

EDIT: I have noticed that the files that were put into the TEXTURES folder either don't have a particular type (ie. they are just "File", rather than something like "r8 file"), or else they are corrupted BMPs (they aren't identifiable as anything when I click on them; just corrupted graphics).

I have the 1-11 installed in FSX mate, and my system is the same as yours. You can't open the image files, you need something like Paintshop Pro or Photo shop to open them so best leave them alone. The only thing I can think is that it needs some files from the base 1-11 panel as well as the 510ED one. I have all the 1-11's installed and its working fine.

Try downloading 111_PANEL_20061031.zip from DM's site and go through the same extraction process with this file.

Let us know if it works

I noticed that the model.cfg file doesn't have an "interor" statement. Is this not required?

Mate the files are fine..almost 100,000 people have downloaded the 1-11 without probalem so don't go messing with the files.

Think about it logically!!!!

Have you tried what I asked above?

Ben,

I have just realised that the Bac 1-11 is actually in the aircraft menu! However, the reason that I couldn't see it is because it is listed underneath a picture of the Beechcraft Baron. Even worse, all of the plane names have been shifted along by one, so now most of them do not correspond with the plane that is pictured. In fact, with the 1-11 installed, I can't select the Beechcraft Baron AT ALL! It seems to have ben "swallowed up" by the 1-11 :o The situation is even worse if I select "all variations"....

Do you see pictures of the 1-11 in the menu?

Just to be clear, have you added the "aircraft" folder to the airplanes folder in FSX?

No, I haven't added the "Aircraft" folder. I just copied the individual 1-11 folders to the SimObjects/Airplanes folder. Was that a mistake?

EDIT: No, it wasn't a mistake. I just tried it

No, the thumbnail picture of the aircraft was only introduced in FSX so no aircraft made prior to that will have a picture. From the aircraft selection menu, under aircraft manufacturer drop down list simply select simply select BAC, its that easy. If you select Beech, it will show you all the beech aircraft.
