Steve, you would model and animate the canopy as normal, but have it attached to a dummy part that has the jettison animation.

Add a custom visibily tag to hide them at the end of the ejection sequence. I did a similar thing with the drop tanks on the Hunter trainers. OK I have nosewheel steering working now but once toggled on using SHIFT-G I cannot get it to lock again – required for take off I think – SHIFT-G does not seem to act as the toggle expected.
I have now tried FAW2 and FAW1 versions out and in of VL and using that aerodynamic braking so often employed. Now all I have to do is set up a night flight and see if the sparks fly from the tail skids.
We used to enjoy watching this at VL during night flying but not the effort replacing the skid pads afterwards. Sometimes the phosphore-bronze fitting had been so far ground down that the retaining bolt heads and been rubbed off, or nearly. This often required a drill to remove remains of bolt-heads (we apprentice 'tiffs had an advantage over our NAM colleagues by we being allowed to use cutting tools). I think the manufacturers, streamlined, pads were expensive and/or 766 were getting through too many for a local order enabled crude-cornered and slightly bulkier versions to be locally manufactured and fitted.
BTW I note the drops have an AVTUR marking on them, if present, and I don't think it was in the manner used here, then the marking would have been AVCAT. But the fuel types allowed were on a transfer near the filler points and using the NATO designation e.g. F-44 for AVCAT.
In real life the wings would not be folded until turning to taxi into the line as the brakes would overheat on the way in. I recall one case where a wheel exploded for this reason.
There were two filler points on the drops so as to be able to over-wing refuel spread or folded. I once watched a Sea Vixen, being ground run by maintainers situated in the gap between hangars just down from NASU (I was busy on Phantom MOD programmes at the time and was I/C of moving a Phantom out for engine runs), spread its wings having been refueled folded and somebody had forgot to re-fit the filler caps. As the outer mainplanes reached the over-vertical position on the way down two huge fountains of AVCAT appeared.

This nose wheel steering is now most odd.
Even clearing out all saved Vixen flight will not restore steering to its locked state.
I have even loaded up a Hunter flight and get nose wheel steering on that - that is just plain silly!

My next move will be to erase all saved flights and auto saved last flight if possible and start all over.
Having nosewheel steer on take of makes it rather hairy but possible.

I think the Skysim Sea Vixen is a fantastic model and the sound effects are brilliant too, But what I was wondering is I have seen pictures of the Skysim Sea Vixen with missle & fuel tanks how do get them to work or is it only for the FSX verison?

James, please read the MANUAL!
The underwing stores are on the FS9 version (the only true version) and are operated by switches on the right hand side of the cockpit. Stores can only be added or changed on the ground BTW.

I too was part of the flight test team and had no issues with the nose wheel steering at all, I have just taken the old girl up for a circuit (the first in many months) and am still suprised what a joy she is to fly!
