Here you go Tony
this is from the FS9 forum announcement for the SafirX
Update for Safir FS2004 owners: We remind that if you own the previous version of SAAB 91 Safir you can download the FSX version for FREE. To do that, please, send us your request. Important: customers who bought both versions of Safir will not be refunded.

I lost my old FS9 activation code, but they sent me a new link for the FSX one within a couple of hours (after I passed on purchase date and e-mail), great service! This was one of the best ever FS9 aircraft, to offer it free to FS9 customers (2 years after release) is also fantastic. I would have expected a small discount, but this is much better, just off to try her out now.... ;-)

Great aircraft but I took 4 attempts to load it in sim (CTD) and one total crash of my PC! :o Anybody else had troubles? The only way that worked was from the initial free flight screen after starting the sim! Changing from that Safir to another one causes a major crash.

At Least you guys get as a far as the Sim. Just bought this, tried to install it and get an error about in needing to run a file but it cant!??!
There is something on their forum about "we'll look into it for a future release" but to me thats not good enough for a payware developer. If I've bought something and can't even install it!
Anyone else had this problem? It seems to lie in the file "init.exe". I've tried everything under the sun, running as admin (Im on Vista), turning off Anti-Virus, Windows defender etc, but no joy.

It sounds as though there is a compatibility error at work, and if the chap who developed the package isn't running VISTA then it isn't something they could really have anticipated. Try closing down any and all excess services running in the background before you install. The code 5 error seems to be closely linked to virus scanners, is it possible that you thought you'd disabled scanners (and any in built windows guff protection) but they were still ticking over in the background?
