It's recommended that you stay around points B, C, D etc, so as to avoid confrontation from the police. The other end is notorious for it. If they're taking off on 06, you can get some lovely views of them banking round towards you (and photos, if you're a photographer), as shown in the first picture. If they're landing on 24, you can pretty much see what sort of stuff you can get from my photos.

I've just listed 3 of the main points on there, although two are only worth visiting if you're wanting photos. Point A is good for both landing and take off shots, and if you drive/walk right up to the fence, you can get a fairly good view of anything visitng on the far side of the airfield (too far away for decent photos, mind).
Point B will just give you a view of the C-130 ramp, should you be interesed. Double fenced, so useless for photos.
Point C - you can either stay on that road, and get a clear view of the approach, but more head on (so long as you walk up a bit, after parking your car on the grass to the left of the marker), or you can venture into those trees and bushes off to the left. There's some raised ground that you might just be able to make out, to the far left of that little triangular section. The view of the approach is obscured by trees though, so you will probably have to listen out rather than look. Be warned, if it's a sunny day, the local spotters will be out in force (making you wonder if any of them actually have jobs ).

That's great info. I've missed visiting Mildenhall over the past couple of years, because I didn't know where to go to view.
Mildenhall can be good at weekends, which I assume doesn't apply to Lakenheath (due to the absence of F15's over my house on Sat or Sun), so if you see someone waving a Nikon D200 about with a big lens on it, it could well be me.

On the flipside, it can also be dead at the weekend, but that particular log shows how busy it can be.
