And you still are, Peter! I have you scheduled to fly in for a two-hour stopover every six hours
I've also got a Trident 2 and a couple of BA 1-11s taking up the slack :)

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions about the spare slot. I've decided on DM's Dan-Air Comet. I did schedule it in originally but then thought it was too early. But if they were still flying in after 1975 then that'll do me.

When I've got the list finalised, I'll post it here and you can tell me what's wrong with it!

Ian :)

There is also the Air Manchester One-Eleven if you are not already using it.

Just remembered that one

I thought of that one, Garry, but I've got a good selection of 1-11s already and it wasn't really around for very long. I'll post the list in a few days and then we can rip it all up and start again

Co-incidentally, I put a rather good model of an Il-18 in yesterday (LOT) as I saw it on an airliners.net pic. Apparently they flew them in on Saturdays.

I've limited the list to 36 jet types/liveries as it gives me a neat schedule of one jet take-off every ten mins. The 12 prop a/c are on a schedule of one take-off every 15 mins. And usually there are roughly the same number of landings - although some of the props go missing from time to time

Okey Dokey here we go! I found that I'd doubled up on BMA DC-9s so I got the Air Manchester 1-11 in after all. So this is my AI line up for Manchester Ringway 1975-1985. Any comments welcome about suitability - or anything else, really

(This list has been updated as I've amended it. As of 19/10:)

36 JETS:
Standard VC10: BA Red Tail (RT)
Super VC10: BA/BOAC Interim RT
B737-200: Britannia, British Airtours, Aer Lingus, Dan-Air
DH Comet 4C: Dan-Air
DC-8-63: Canadian Pacific, Aviaco
B727-100: Lufthansa, TAP, Dan-Air
B727-200: Air France
DH Trident 2: BA RT
DH Trident 3: BA RT
DC-9-30: KLM, SAS, British Midland, Aviaco
B747 Classic: BA RT, PanAm
L1011 Tristar: British Airtours, Air Canada
BAC 1-11 300: Laker
BAC 1-11 400: BA RT, Air Manchester
BAC 1-11 500: Dan-Air, British Caledonian
BAC 1-11 510: BA RT
Tupolev 154: Balkan
Douglas DC10: Wardair, Cal Air, Laker Skytrain
B707-320: BA RT Cargo, British Midland
B707-420: BA RT

19 PROPS:
Fokker F27: British Midland (x2), Air UK (x2)
HS748: BA RT (x2), Dan-Air (x2)
Shorts 360: Manx Airways, Air UK, British Midland
Viscount: BA RT, BAF, Guernsey, BA FJ
Vanguard: Invicta
Merchantman: BA RT, Air Bridge.
Ilyushin 18: LOT

The reason for doubling up on some of the props is to get a good balance on the ground at any time. If I leave the sim alone for a couple of hours, some of them get into a bit of difficulty and either disappear or go round in circles trying to find the ILS and this balance gives them time to sort themselves out without leaving me with too many empty gates!

Cheers for now

Ian :)

Hi Ian

Nice list :)

I think the Comet 4's were all gone by then.......4B and 4C would be safer in the double black livery.

No ABC Vanguard??

Thanks for that, Garry. I'll have the Comet 4 replaced with a 4C asap

The problem with Vanguards is that the only AI model available is the CalClassics one in BEA RS or TCA. DM very kindly let me have his private BA RT 'Merchantman' livery. When I have time, I'll try out Rick's 'full strength' Vanguard as AI and see what it does to the frame rates. Until I get round to trying that, I'm stuck with just the one.

Anyway - off to work now, so that's it until tomorrow!

Cheers

Ian

BTW, as a matter of policy I don't mind people releasing repaints of my AI Aircraft (complete, with the model etc. in it's own folder), as long as CalClassics, myself, and the original author get credit. I prefer you release them as a separate folder, since if you add your livery to *my* folder any updates I might create will overwrite your modified cfg file and wipe out your livery's entry. Of course, I'm happy to include them in my package if they are from the 1957 to 1962 era.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Tom

If anyone wants to take any extras on at least that question is answered :)
