In a way but Dan Air bought up all the remaining Comets.....some just for spares and they helped keep the type flying longer than would otherwise have been the case.

Same with Channel.they had spares probs and bought G-APDR back, immediatley cannabalised it and that got three of their four Comets flying again :)

Since i was last there (in 1988 :o ) 319 has aged a bit ;-). Apparently she was in such a bad way that if they didnt start the restoration they may have had to scrap her :'( .

Of all the exhibits they have the Sea Venom and Hunter look in the best condition. But a lot of the other aircraft are restoration projects. Like DaveB says, its a lovely little museum hampered by a lack of space so some exhibits (the comet nose, for example) are hidden behind other aircraft and can hardly be seen.
