Assuming you start at max tow (kneeboard ref 54 thous lbs) your fuel load is 350 USg per tank. At 8000 ft 37 ins Hg and about 1883 rpm will give you the BEA speed of 148 kias. You should reduce speed by 1.5 knots approx for each 1000 lbs of fuel burned.
Hope this helps.

Not tried it at 8000. Will do so and also reduce speed as suggested by Paule. Let you know when I have done flight.

Just rechecked the BEA Elizabethan cruise performance chart.
At a pressure altitude of 8000 feet and the throttle at the ECB position(37 ins Hg) an IAS of 148 knots requires approx 900 BHP; this will give fuel consumption of 115 imp gals hour when close to max weight.
If I recall correctly the model yields similar figures.

I suppose I had better take my foot off the accelerator!

After you have decelerated go to your desk and do 100 lines "I must rtm". I shall check them on Monday!

Flew EGNT-ENBR. Gate to gate it took 2hrs 35 mins. Flew at 7000' with real weather Active Sky. Wind mainly from 320 degrees varying from 1-14kts.
MAP was 37lbs and wasmainly RPM 1800 increasing to 1882 for last 20 minutes of flight. Consumption was uncannily 992kgs. Spot on the published figure. Would it have been less or more if I had flown with 1882 rpm all the flight?

The way my simple mind reads the rather complex cruise performance chart in the orig BEA manual, it would be slightly higher flying at a constant speed. On long flights the ideal econ cruise could go as low as 137 Kias.
Landing is a bit tricky cos of the overlarge tail bumper on the model, how do you find it, and do you fly it as per the kneeboard ref?

My simple mind cannot get the ref to show in kneeboard. I was flying as per FS Nav specs.

Simon, can't think of an obvious reason for the reference not to show up in the kneeboard. It is an html file so can be loaded into Explorer.
