It would be nice if that technology had been pushed into other aircraft. Some 727s had(have) this system, but it never gained universal appeal and I think it's stupid because you can easily mess up the chart interpolation, but if you keep the gauge working, there's no error to be made.

I recall watching Il-62's (VC-10 copies). These have a wheel at the rear, which is deployed on an extendable leg. It is even used whilst taxiing :o .
That gives me a lot of confidence in the aeroplane
