The last I read, the Vulcan was a possibility for static display only. Hope that's wrong though!

Even though I am away during that week-end it would be nice for the Vulcan to do it's very first public air display at where it used to be based.

Short vid of Al McDicken from the cockpit giving an insight into flying the Vulcan. Well worth a look.

A word of warning - the DC-6 is only displaying on the Sunday, and I believe the B-52 is Saturday only. I'd love to see both, but my Saturday tickets were ordered anyway, so I don't really have a choice in the matter!

Booked the campsite (pending confirmation), so we'll be there on Saturday. Hope the weather stays fine.

I personally would take a B-52 over a DC-6, although I'm sure many on here wouldn't. Never seen the BUFF fly yet - it was cancelled at the last show I went to (RIAT 2003?).

My understanding is that upon arrival at Waddington, shortly after 1800 this evening, 558 performed her display routine for CAA approval. Hope she passed (. . . . rumour has it she did :o :worried: :dunno: ).

Talk about cutting it fine!!!

Can anyone confirm any of this?

Sounds like the DA has indeed been given! :welldone:

Now, if the rain can hold off long enough...

I've been considering not going, but keep convincing myself that it won't rain ALL day!

So, So, SOOOO, pleased that (subject to British weather) my Dad (an ex Vulcan AEO) and I are going to get to see a Vulcan . . . THE Vulcan display for the first time this centry (we've both seen her fly this centry, Dad at Cottesmore and myself whilst at work at Cranwell). I can't even begin to describe how excited I am.

Well done and congratulations to The Vulcan Operating Company and all involved in this true British success story at a time when there are so few of them about. :welldone: :prayer:
