Hi Ben
It sort of makes sense .except aup until now I have had anti aliasing on both settings.
Even in the past where I have been switching from application controlled to card controlled this has not happened before.
I seem to have less AA in FSDS now as well on the perpective view

Peter
I will have to look more into this next week I am off to Cornawall in an hour or so, but so far it stuttered and made no improvement to graphics from the settings you mentioned, I did not understand the AA stuff and x16 as when you select AA in nHnacer it goes application and removes the x16 facility do you use AA in the FS9 as I do or run AA from the card?? Maybe my card is crap... I will look more into it when I get back, maybe uninstall it and then install it again so I start with default settings??
Cheers Tony

Re: nHancer settings??
Garry,
FS9 is DESIGNED to run in Full Screen Mode and some of the settings ONLY apply to Full Screen Mode...For instance you can only set the resolution in Full Screen Mode...When you go to Windowed Mode the screen resolution will change to whatever you have set for your Windows Desktop. It is certain that the tick in the Options > Settings > Display > Hardware Tab "Antialiasing" box will also only apply to Full Screen Mode. This is the reason that some people labour under the delusion that Windowed Mode runs faster than Full Screen Mode...Of course it will if you have FS9 set to run with 1600x1200 and Anti-aliased and you have your Windows Desktop running at 1024x768...The moment you switch to Windowed Mode you cancel the resolution and AA that you have set for FS9 and clunk! it goes into less resolution and no AA...Of course it runs faster, but you are comparing apples with oranges.
I never use Windowed Mode but if you want to use it then you must use your graphics card forceware or Enhancer to get your AA

Re: nHancer settings??
Hi Peter
Thank you for that
Before it was not game controlled so it was OK???
I don't use windowed mode usually......only sometimes when I am checking something and need to see them both at the same time and of course with the jaggies that's impossible
I alway fly if I can on full screen but I only make one short pleasure flight perhaps onece every three months or more.
My FS use is usually only in test and checking and any plaeasure flight are to take a break from that. I don't think I've ever turned the PC on with the sole purpose of flying FS..

Have a look at this:
http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_p ... 25186&PN=1
About 3/4 of the way down the page there is a post by "NickN" with screenshots and details of how to correctly set up nHancer for FS. The settings he uses here are for FSX, but they also work equally well in FS9. The only change I would recommend is dropping down the AA to 4xS if you have an 8600 card.
