That's probably true mate.. Heavy Lift are Heavy Lift and that's what they do. Being the sole operator of the type already (and already limited by spares shortages).. it may well be that they saw an opportunity above and beyond the capacity of their current fleet and 'went for' a-n-other. Another 225 (as an opposition) is enough to make anyone shudder so why throw good money after bad.

Hi Garry, Dave!

Great shame if BEPS is to be scrapped. :'( I was all geared up for a possible trip to Southend to capture those Tynes purring on video!

The old 'Fastback' is the most graceful type of that configuration. A shame they didn't use it as the basis to the A400M. Instead, all we have is a prop version of the C-17.......(ugly!!)

Dave, would the Vanguard's Tynes really be compatible for the Belfast?

Hi Chris..

HeavyLift approached us mate :) It wasn't a case of unbolt our Tynes and bolt em onto the Belfast.. HL wanted various parts of our engines to replace out of hours/defective parts on theirs. Very much a case of 'so close.. and yet so far' :-(
