The only repaint I've ever seen for this package is Gerald Flores' Friday the 13th one for the Halifax ( friday_13th_texture.zip at Avsim).

By the way, here's a readme that I have stored with my backup copy of Halifax / Halton. I remember talking with Dave Booker about the radio stack, and the people at Alphasim about the aircraft's tendency to nose over under braking; this is the gist of what emerged. Hope it is of help to all who now have this package.

Use this radios section:

[Radios]
Audio.1=1
Com.1=1,0
Nav.1=1,0,1
Adf.1=1,0
Transponder.1=1
Marker.1=1
Com.2=1,0
Nav.2=1,0,0

To view the whole radio frequency panel, change your panel.cfg file to replace the radio section with this one:

[Window01]
file=Navpanel.bmp
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=500
window_size_ratio=1.00 0
position=7
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL
window_size= 0.488, 0.332
window_pos= 0.256, 0.668

gauge00=Lear_45!radio stack, 171,65,162,176
gauge01=Lear_45!Autopilot, 50,15,400
gauge02=alpha_hsi, 346,75,140
gauge03=military_rmi, 16,90,150

You must be using a key or button for the brakes, which will lead to nose-overs. To avoid this you can change the brake scalar in the aircraft.cfg file to a lower value. Right now it is 0.65, just reduce it to whatever works for your system. Toe brakes such as those on the CH Pro Pedals will solve the braking issue but of course can be a hit to the wallet
!

Cheers Brian. Here's the thread about the Halton/Halifax radios. It might give you a bit more info.

Not to shabby in FSX :)

Most gauges need swapping out, and the prop texture replaced.

Thats good to see, Dave. With FSX in the post to me from Amazon, I'm gradually saying a personal goodbye to my FS9 downloads, shaking them by the hand and giving them a farewell hug. Nice to think that at least the Halibag may accompany me into the brave new world! :dancer:

Also needs a castoring tail wheel and air brakes -- Garry could you use the tail wheel function from the freighter
Some where on the wew there is a poor colour photo of Harold Bamberg and Freddie Laker (both young bucks)
standing beside a Halton painted in Eagle Crimson during the Berlin Airlift, Someone will correct me if Im wrong
but I beleive a young Freddie and a feldgling version of ATEL designed the Pannier for the Halton.

Anyway, Its a good freebie

Hi Leif

The tailwheel castoring is coded into the tailwheel part, not a CFG fuction I'm afraid

There don't seem to be many castoring versions around and Rick was my saviour as I could find nothing on it anywhere else.

The Freddie Laker/ATL Pannier rings a bell. Infact he bought a load of Halifaxes to modify etc and ATEL was very much into the type as indeed it was with the Tudor and of course Prentice.

Air Charter which he owned used a fleet of Halifax, Tudor and Yorks on the Berlin Air Lift.

They certainly converted many of their acquired stock to civil use so I suppose a pannier was chicken feed to them.

Cheers Garry

Makes sense that Freddie would stick with what he knew, He was a Halifax fitter in World War 2 I think you will find

I flew the AS model today and its really both nice to look at and pleasent to fly, even landed at Lympne - a new panel would be

nice and John Hinsons sound file for the Hercules helps no end but its a ncie freebie
