Horizon's Generation X V2 turned up on Saturday morning, so upon returning home from flying, duly installed it (umm took a long time). Set it to the parameters in the manual and am very very pleased. What with the more accurate mesh (Eggesford is as per in real life....lovely), it is so much smoother and a lot more authentic looking than FS2004's photographic scenery. With the vis set down to a more normal 10 miles, it is superb. I get the occasional blurred image, but I've been flying around in Rick's Chipmunk and Foxbat, so I suppose I wont get many at those speeds.
Only thing I notice and I thought was only a problem with the older version is that the airfields are either on plateaus (Plymouth for example) or under the level of the surrounding countryside (Eaglescott). Is there anyway around this.
This hasnt made me defect from FS2004 as I still use that more as have that set up as how I want it, but FSX will help now on flying cross countries before the real thing.
Thanks to all for all your help.
