My first lessons were in a PA28 too... always thought it flew (and landed) much better that the 152 (which I hate with a passion)

A mate of mine used to fly warriors and he found the landings soft due to ground effect....but on hot days he would sail down the runway just off trying to get it down

I have about 20 hours, but usually only manage to go up once a year now due to cost. I started in 2003 and did about 10 lessons before running out of cash. So since then I just take the odd lesson when I can, not for ppl, but just because its a brilliant way to spend an hour, the best feeling in the world.

Shame you couldn't keep it up :-(

But if you had got you PPL you would have lost currency and still have to go up for a refresher so in a way you are in the same postion for less cash spent.

And yes....what a great way to spend an hour

I had my one and only experience of flying a plane, a Cessna 172, on my 60th birthday. A trial lesson as a present from my son.

As I remarked to my wife, think yourself lucky it's not my 30th birthday or the house would be mortgaged like a shot. It was one of the most fantastic experiences ever.

Mind you, it does bring home just how difficult flying in FS is. There isn't that "seat of the pants" feeling.

Ben, 152s can be nice to fly too they just take a bit more practice to get the landings right.
