I've just looked on Google Earth and can only see one of these Lightnings (the one at Castle Motors). Perhaps the others have only recently been moved to their locations and therefore don't show up on the old GE images.

The other two are still in their locations, as well saw them on Saturday - the Callington one is on the western outskirts of the town on the road to Liskeard. Its in the grounds of a house called Pencrebar which used to owned by the Foote family. The St Cleer one is in the grounds of probably the largest house in the village - large flat roofed rectangular building. Used to be a Sycamore here too. Both have been there for over fifteen years. There used to be one at Torpoint but this has moved somewhere up North. Never tried Google Map so might have a go to try and locate them for you.

Edit: Just had a look on Google Map and both are visible - type Pencrebar, Callington in for one and St.Cleer for the other. This one is a little outside the village to the East down Tremar Lane. Hope that helps.

Thanks for that, Martin. I was only looking in the main areas of the villages for the two I couldn't see, but now I can see them. Great sight to behold!

I must get around to doing some gardening, I must, I must, I must....... I well umm perhaps could do it later.....as today flew up to Brimpton in Berkshire (home of the Piston Provost) for their fundraising day in the SkyJeep. Thanks to all involved up there as we all had a wonderful time!

On the way home, tried to get in at Compton Abbas as Pooleys were having a fly-in there, but heard on the radio that the airfield didnt have any more space to park aircraft and so were only letting visitors land when one departed. With a list of ten orbiting here and there, we decided to go home. I take my hat off to the controller, I've never known it to be so busy.

Rounded off the day with 30 mins in the prototype Auster 9.

Wonder if there is any chance of it snowing next week, as I cant keep this up. I know there is an event at Henstridge next weekend and then the week after that its the big vintage fly-in at Goodwood, but I simply cant give them a second thought can I?.......suppose the grass could wait a week or so though.....
