A small update...

1. Thinned the blue stripe, as per Garry's suggestion (sorry, Garry. I misunderstood 'too deep' for meaning the colour rather than the height).

2. Adjusted the white stripe to match.

I just need to add the engine details and then I think it's finished.

I have saved the textures using DXTBmp as DXT3. Is this OK for an AI aircraft?

That'll be fine for an AI A/C Kevin......Are you thinking of adding it as a full A/C repaint also....?

Maybe get it upto 32bit if thats the case......Lovely work.....

DXT3 is fine for AI and for full size as well.

32bit as Tony says if you want high detail on paints but even then if your original bitmap is A1 quality it should take DXT3 compression withou any noticable ill effects.

Until recently DXT3 was standard for FS to help lower end machines.

Thanks, Tony / Garry

As I'm still learning, I think I'll keep it as an AI aircraft for now.

Just my luck - checked Flightsim.com earlier, to find someone posted an AI KLM DC-9 about a week ago (after I'd searched for weeks).
At least I've made a start and can use the skill gained, for other projects.
I had hoped to post this (if it's good enough). Are there any problems in posting something that there is already one of?

Regards

Kevin

Hi Kevin

There is no problem at all about there already being one :)

Hi Kevin..

No mate.. you post away. Just look at how many other identical paints there are on there!! Someone out there may like something in yours he/she doesn't see on the other one ;-)

Thanks for your help and encouragement, guys.

I think it's finished now.
I've added the detail to the engines, anti-aliased the 'Royal Dutch Airlines' titling and also that of 'DC-9'.
I haven't added the aircraft name, below the cockpit or, the reg under the wing.
As this is just an AI aircraft, I thought that these would be a little too much detail.

So here it is....

Image

The textures are saved as exteneded Bitmaps, DXT3.

Would anyone be willing to look it over, before I attempt to upload it to Avsim / Flightsim?

Cheers

Kevin

Thanks, Dave

It's on it's way.

Do I need a photo and thumbnail for Avsim / Flightsim?
Any other advice on uploading greatfully accepted.

Cheers

Hi Kevin

best to include a Jpeb

You will also need to write a description amd have a red me file with instructions and a CFG entry

If you want to download one of mine and use that as a basis you are more than welcome
