Hi Trev

I think there stuff has improved hugely of late possibly because of our criticism possibly not so not sure it's on deaf ears. :dunno:

Anyway the Jag looks more like a Jag than any other Model so that can only be a good thing for even us

Rick

As thier customers consider us atCBFS 'rivet counters', maybe we should just let them get on with it!
Strangely, these are the customers who would celebrate stuff eminating from the 'gurus' here (like yourself) as being so accurate and well researched...funny old world aint it! :dunno:

The forum there is a shrine to Phil and his merry men where critics get short shrift, albeit from minor members of the team and regular posters on the whole, not from actually Phil or Dan themselves. If that is another Dan model, he must be eating Ito sans' sushi diet
A couple of weeks back I actually read a nice post from you regarding Alphasim Trev. I thought " Aye oop lads Trev's turned over a new leaf ". Or perhaps you'd just forgotten to take the pills that morning. ;-)

Indeed mate

Do we really care what Alpha do  Well.. no.. unless we've paid for it and it's a load of cr@p

Not worth getting worked up about their situation or by what regard we're held over there. I really don't care :) If something is good.. then I'll be the first to say so. If something is bad.. I hope it's not me who's bought it  If they don't make anything I fancy.. then no problemo. No money has passed hands so the 'Status Quo' is maintained.. like the Egg card advert. For every clever move.. there's an equally stupid one :)

I have only one grudge with Alpha, and infact have bough many of their products over the years. My grudge is their berating of this forum due to critisism of a few of their products, which where less than acurate. I would also be the first to say that some members of this forum where (in my view) more than harsh with their critisism, however, this is a public forum and as such we will get extreems of view on many issues. With that in mind I am very disapointed in some of the remarks made about us over there in the past. :-(

As Rick has already said, the Jag looks good, better than anything else out there currently, so I'll probably buy it as it holds a special place in my aviation experience.

Ito san's sushi diet? What is that meant to mean. :dunno:

FYI the Jag was built by the same chaps that did the Lightnings. It's being completed by Mark Harper of Phantom fame.

How many times do I have to publically state that there is no 'ban' on UK models, and that there is no rift between these two forums? The people that keep coming up are the same ones, every time. Give it a rest.

Why do I no longer like pushing Brit stuff? Simply because of stupid comments received regarding the Scimitar. I can choose to break my balls building stuff that will be appreciated, or I can do stuff that gets bashed for the sake of it. Just because things carry an 'Alpha' title does not mean that they automatically conform to some forum users ancient expectations.

If it helps, at least one of the regulars here is on the testing team for both Jag and Tornado. If ye offer your support, it will be gratefully recieved.

There's 'criticism' and there's being stupid about things. The 'constructive' posts seem to turn into a back slapping thread after a while.

I'm not a member over at AS mate, but over the past few months I have seen a fair amount of mud slinging at us, which pisses me off. I think Ive mentioned this in public twice. I guess thats the trouble with public forums though. :goodman:

I have said this before, and I'll say it again, can we ALL make sure that when we post about anyones models that its relevent and factual and not a tirade. If a model is good great, if its pants, tells us why, this way other can make an informed choice to download or not. ;-)

Hi Dan, just a light hearted comment about all tha Pacific fish you must now be eating may suggest that you are producing models at an astounding rate! Having now discovered that the Jag is not yours make it a little irrelelavant though! The old AS Lightnings are super, so the Jag looks very promising.

As I said in my post, the comments made about CBFS are not made by AS designers in general, but AS customers on the forum. I have not bought any of the recent releases but the quality of the stuff you and your colleagues are turning out looks (from the screen shots) superb, I suppose we are about the only forum that has a depth of knowlege (both in models and real world aircraft) to see any faults in British aircraft. I cannot think of a similar US based forum (SOH is the nearest I think) that would be critical of stateside built aircraft, with that much technical know how behind it. I guess that is a burden we will have to bear!
