Brilliant, thanks Bob. Just don't know what I'd do without all of your help and advice.

Nigel,
I will be making a Traffic file for Kai Tak based on the TAi Flightplans, so if you want to wait till I've finished it, you can have a copy. It will work completely if you have the TAi package installed and you won't need to do anything other than place the one Traffic file.
Belay on that Nigel...The TAi package seems to have only about one B747 and only about two flightplans into Hong Kong...I will make a Traffic package but it may involve installing some AI aircraft to work...I will use the airlines that fly to Hong Kong and construct a Traffic file from those.

Thanks Peter, all I have managed presently is to delete VHHH and replace it with VHHX so the new Hong Kong Airport has now been taken off with the old one put into place, have not yet got round to the Flightplans as there are that many it will take about an hour and a half to change the codes with Find and Replace.
Will hold off until I hear from you.
Regards Nigel.

Nigel,
When you say you have deleted VHHH, I presume you mean its AFCAD file...You should really have disabled it by renaming it with a ".dis" on the end of its name. This will disable any .bgl file and absolutely prevent it loading and then you can always go back to the new airport if you desire.
I'm also interested to hear that there are so many cases of VHHH in your flightplans...What is the name of the TANTRIS Traffic file that you have decompiled with Ttools?...I couldn't find more than two instances. Perhaps you have decompiled the original FS9 Traffic file.
BTW find and replace is almost instant as you REPLACE VHHH with VHHX and when it finds the first one you just click the "Replace ALL" button.
I am looking into the making of a quality Traffic package for Kai Tak with only good models like the ones used by "World of AI"...I have ALL of the WOA packages installed and as I put in each airline I disable that airline from other packages like PAI. Do you by any chance have any WOA packages installed?
I should have all I need to know by the end of today and I'll let you know how I'm getting on :flying:

Hi Peter, I had thought about renaming VHHH but after installing 9Dragons have no intentions of going back to the new Hong Kong Airport (same as Daves' Manchester Airport, as I find that they are much better).
The answer to you second question regarding Tantris Traffic File is this one
FlightPlans_AdobeTP_4_4 though I did try, but it was finding so many VHHHs' that I felt something was not quite right and stopped it.
As for the WOA, I do not have any of them installed. Found that the Tantris pack which Jetset sent me sometime ago was straight forward and very easy to install (did it all by itself)
I am afraid that when it comes to AFCADS and the like I am totally clueless!!
Just found out that everytime I go to Find and Replace when in notepad the programme stops responding, how can that be?
Regards Nigel.

Nigel,
The FlightPlan.txt files are a bit cumbersome in NotePad...Open them instead in WordPad...Then click Edit at the top of the WordPad window, then click Replace...The replace window has two slots "Find what:" and "Replace with:"...You just put VHHH in the Find what and VHHX in the Replace with. Now you will see the buttons at the side of the window...If you want to watch a few then click the Find Next and then the Replace buttons...Then when you get fed up with watching them you can click the Replace All button.
I'm afraid I'm going to back out of this one Nigel...I'm finding the package extremely troublesome with a lot of CTDs and I dislike its concrete...especially as it replaces all your taxiway concrete throughout FS9. I find that presumptuous and have changed it back. They should have installed the concrete texture dedicated to Kai Tak.
Also I have a freeware and splendid version of VHHH and I like it very much and would prefer to keep it. I have used the airport a number of times as a passenger and am very fond of it.
So in my machine Kai Tak is going back to dead and closed and I'll spend the rest of today getting back to normal...Good luck with your conversion of the traffic and I look forward to some screenshots of the ChequerBoard approach

Just found the problem Peter, it was the correct file I was trying to change but the problem believe it or not, was that word wrap was in place on the notepad, unchecking that meant all the VHHH could be replaced without the programme freezing.
Have all aircraft in place plus movements.
Just seen your last post Peter, would just like to thank you very much for your offer of help, it was very much appreciated and sorry if I had caused you many headaches. I will
not be beaten as much as I dislike messing around with files, if I get it wrong I can always uninstall then re-install. :doho:
Again many thanks, as for the checkerboard that will come at some point as need the practise.

Well Done Nigel...That does look splendid.
I've managed to get my system back to normal, but thank God I only installed it yesterday and it was all still in my head!...I made the mistake of deleting the actual kit of unzipped parts before I had undone all those rename and replace bits  Fortunately I had the printed manual and with my written notes, managed to get it all out and the renamed files un-renamed! Just spent some time watching my traffic at Chek Lap Kok and all is well :flying:
